A labor inspector can issue a formal notice to an employer in this regard.   <\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What do workplace safety signs look like?<\/h2>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong>shape and color of <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/adf-systemes.fr\/en\/produit\/illuminated-sign-al2-atex\/\"><strong>and color of<\/strong> <strong>ATEX<\/strong><\/a> signs in the workplace are governed by the Decree of November 4, 1993 :<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>no-smoking and no-touching signs are round, with a white background, red border and slanted band, and a black pictogram;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>warning signs (e.g. for flammable or toxic materials) are triangular in shape, with a black pictogram on a yellow background and a black border;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>mandatory signs (e.g. for wearing helmets or gloves) are round, with a blue background and a white pictogram;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rescue or emergency signs on squares or rectangles, on a green background with a white pictogram;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Signs concerning fire-fighting material or equipment are square or rectangular, on a red background with white pictograms;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>risk and danger signs can feature yellow and black stripes, or red and white stripes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>As regards the pictograms used, there are international standards to be complied with, in particular the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iso.org\/fr\/standard\/54432.html\">ISO 7010 standard<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"http:\/\/adf.majoliedemo.com\/7154-tout-ce-que-vous-devez-savoir-le-guide-ultime?neo_campaign=guide-gratuit&amp;neo_medium=click_popup&amp;uuid=9cb08676-4e44-4d7f-bedd-511509558032\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"269\" data-src=\"https:\/\/adf-systemes.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/banniere-adf-guide-1024x269.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7044 lazyload\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/adf-systemes.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/banniere-adf-guide-980x258.webp 980w, https:\/\/adf-systemes.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/banniere-adf-guide-480x126.webp 480w\" data-sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1024px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1024\/269;\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What other safety signs are available at work?<\/h2>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p>Signs are not the only form of safety signage. You can also use : <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Illuminated signs <\/strong>must be clearly visible without dazzling. Its color and any pictograms used must correspond to the nomenclature established for signs. If it is possible to use a continuous and an intermittent signal for the same sign, the intermittent <strong>light signal<\/strong> will indicate a higher level of danger or greater urgency than the continuous signal.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An <a href=\"https:\/\/adf-systemes.fr\/sirene-dalarme-industrielle\/\">acoustic signal<\/a>, which must be audible despite the ambient noise in the company without being painful.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/adf-systemes.fr\/alarme-sonore-et-lumineuse-atex\/\"><strong>Light<\/strong> and sound<strong>signalling<\/strong> <\/a>must be checked at least once every six months, as must <a href=\"https:\/\/adf-systemes.fr\/en\/produit\/sonos-fire-siren\/\">fire alarms<\/a>. Emergency power supplies must be checked at least once a year. <\/p>\n\n<p>In addition, to inform and protect personnel, all potentially hazardous substances must be identified and labeled. The same applies to pipes transporting hazardous products, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legifrance.gouv.fr\/loda\/id\/JORFTEXT000000483337\/2020-11-26\/\">the decree of November 4, 1993 <\/a>defining the colors to be used according to the fluid being transported. <\/p>\n\n<p>In all cases, employers are obliged to train their employees in the meaning of safety signs and signals.
